The NEW CampaTracka PMT/HDAGo here to setup your new PMTHDA Pole Mountable Tracker, Heavy Dual Axis. Or "PMT/HDA"With Optional Ball Bearing Pivots for use on larger arrays and or solar hot water heating. PLEASE NOTE; You may need some Electromechanical Knowledge for this project. This was designed as a base for you DIY solar guys to get started with, so how you mount solar panels & or a water heater concentrator is totally at your discretion, and we at campatracka.com take no responsibility for what you do with this unit once in your hands. Please read our terms and conditions before buying any campatracka product I have designed this Heavy Duty PMT with more than one or two panels in mind. Hence a few changes. PLEASE NOTE: the PMT/HDA only comes with standard 1000mm wide panel mounting pivots; you need to add to these for more than 1 mtr wide panels. The first thing you will notice is the Aluminium Side Plates are longer at 270mm long to give the spine even more strength and stability. The spine is now 480mm long which gives me more advantages. For starters the distance between pivots is now around 410mm, and best of all the 12" actuator has been replaced with a Firgellie 18" 8mm per second actuator which gives you even more east west travel. And, I have been asked quiet often of late about using my PMT series trackers for Solar Hot water heating. Until now I have said no way would the pivots take the weight required for 20 to 60 litres of water. But I have now made an option available for the PMT range of trackers. Optional ball bearing pivots. See photos and info down the page on Pivot bearings. Note, much more range between full North & South Axis with the 9" actuator. Both the 18" & 9" Actuators are rated at 90 kg force, push & pull at 8 to 10mm per second. I am over 110kg and I can not stall these things no matter how I try. So please, keep fingers etc away from moving parts when installed ok. ![]() In the photo on right, you can see I have made the pivot mount for the 9" vertical actuator adjustable by sliding it up or down the 50 mm square pole. This may NOT be such a good idea on a round pole. I would recommend you use this to get your adjustment in the correct position for full North & South movement of the 9" Actuator, then drill a hole through the middle of the plates , through the round pole. I suggest this because with a round pole you have less pole for the two plates to get a grip on. ![]() ![]() Above photos show the ball bearing Optional Pivots I make using the pressed steel bearings used in Concreters wheal barrows. So why did I use these? A few reasons; firstly, they have a little slop, side ways movement which will help if the panels are not 100% in alignment. Also they are reasonably cheep from most building suppliers or hardware stores at around $7.40 AUD each. Also, ask yourself, how heavy is a wheelbarrow when full of mixed concrete? Bloody heavy! Believe me, I know.! As stated one the photos, these are an optional at $40.00 AUD. If you want the PMT/hda as a water heater, or you are thinking of loading over 4 square meters of panels on it, I would recommend the Optional Bearing pivots. With standard Pivots. =$605.00 Posted Australia Wide With Ball Bearing Pivots $635.00 Posted Australia Wide If you want the Ball Bearing Pivots for a DIY tracker you're making =$40.00 plus $6.50 post Australia Wide. NOTE: I will only ever have one available, if possible. So you will need to place an order for these ok. Turnaround will be about 7 days from my receiving the cleared payment. As always, if you need more info or to order, call Dave on 0263424309 7 days before 8pm or email dave@campatracka.com Need a lighter more portable Pole Mountable Tracker?
