Dual Axis Pole Mountable Tracker I have designed this PMT/DA with more than one application in mind. Firstly I wanted a pole mountable, but secondly I wanted it to be adaptable. By adaptable I mean I wanted to be able to convert it to a full blown dual axis, and, could it be reasonably portable? The answer is yes!! And here it is. ![]() ![]() In the above photo you can see the two plates I have used for holding the vertical adjuster, are simply moved down to accommodate the 4 inch 8 mm per second vertical actuator I have made nylon spacers for each end of that 4" actuator to keep it central between the plates. Actuator specs; 12v 3amp at 90kg load. 25% duty cycle, speed 8 to 12mm per second dependant on battery condition. So it should have no problems moving a couple 120 watt or larger. NOTE; I will do some home-brewed load testing on the lift capability over the next few days. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As you can see in the above right photo, you need to be extra cautious with regards to the actuators travel path when it's on full summer time or south axis. You can adjust it a little further south when mounting the pmt head simply by raising your bottom actuator support brackets. So keep this in mind when mounting the head assembly ok. As stated on the photo; all PMT/DA trackers will have all-weather boot kits fitted to the motors. Out of interest you may like to know that the little 4 inch actuator with a boot kit cost a stagering $170.00 AUD with shipping. Unreal hey what!! ![]() ![]() I decided to give you two options for sensors. Reason? Simple. Firstly, adjusting two sensors is far easier to achieve than getting the dual sensors adjusted for maximum efficiency, and, I know many of you use these trackers on the farm and on sheds etc for x amount of the year, but you also want them portable for going bush, right? so if you are only going bush for a couple weeks you really don't need dual axis, but, if you carry the north south sensors with you, you have spares. If the axetracker east west sensors plays up, all you need do is use the small basic sensors until I repair or replace your axetracka sensors. if not using the 2nd vertical sensors just use the small jump-wires that will be included to adjust your north south. Option two of course is a full blown dual axis sensor, which I also have available to suit my trackers. And anyone who buys a PMT/DA with full blown dual axis sensors will get a spare set of the basic sensors as a back up. Now, just because I suggest a spare set does not mean my axetracka or dual axis sensors have a problem. they don't. To date none have been returned in the 8 months I been making and selling them. But they will be there just in case . If you choose the pair or the single dual axis system for sensors the price will be the same on the PMT/DA. I have yet to work out a price for the dual axis sensors on their own. The price of the PMT/DA around $585.00aud plus $35.00 post nsw act vic & southeast QLD. $40 for wa, tas, nt, and north qld. As always, all trackers are posted via registered insured post. PLEASE NOTE; Due to fluctuating Prices and the ozy dollar, price may vary from week to week. So please email dave@campatracka.com or phone for a firm price. Why are they so expensive if a standard PMT is only $360.00 ? For starters that 4" actuator is a cool $170.00 aud with the all weather boot fitted. And that's what they cost me and I do not add a cent in profit to the actuators. If I charged proper hourly rates & added the usual 20% on parts I would never sell one. My profit margin is very slim for the time involved, so don't ask for discount unless you want at least two of them ok. Wholesale enquiries welcome, but you need to order in quantities of two or more of any Tracker I make to get wholesale prices. TURNAROUND TIME; I will only be making the PMT/DA as ordered. But I should have one ready for post within 5 days of receiving cleared payment. If you need to know more just email dave@campatracka.com or find my number on the contact page. If you wish to see more of the tracker head itself look at the PMT standard as it is the same tracker but without dual axis electronics. Turnaround will be about 7 days from my receiving the cleared payment. As always, if you need more info or to order, call Dave on 0263424309 7 days before 8pm or email dave@campatracka.com .
